The Una Marson Library will open next spring, hot on the heels of the new Southwark Heritage Centre and Walworth Library, making it the second new library to have opened in Walworth in as many years. Una was a local poet, playwright, campaigner for equality and the first Black woman programme maker at the BBC. The new library will open on to a new public square being built just off Dawes Street, SE17. Southwark Council has announced it will name its latest new library after local hero, Una Marson.
